Ginger aids digestion, helps relieve the nausea of morning or motion sickness, it is wonderful for soothing sore throats, colds and coughs. It is also anti-inflammatory so can help to relieve aches and pains including headaches.
Cinnamon also helps ease colds, it is anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-bacterial as well as being a strong anti-oixidant. It also helps stabilise blood sugar levels - which helps us not to crave all those sweet things we often turn to in winter.
A handful of fresh mint
1/2 a lemon or lime
1 cinnamon quill
2cm of ginger finely sliced
Finely slice ginger and tear mint, squeeze lemon or lime into teapot and add the rest to the pot, to get more flavour out of the cinnamon quill snap it in half. Add boiling water and let steep for about 5 minutes. Enjoy!
