Packed with protein, (named by my daughter), these are a delicious nutritious and filling snack. Fantastic for that emergency chocolate hit! I use whatever is in the cupboard for nuts and dried fruits. Once you’ve made the first batch you can experiment. Ingredients
|
Process nuts and seeds in food processor, start with the linseeds, until ground, remove and put into a bowl.
Process dried fruits and oats in food processor, add back in the nuts and add all other ingredients (you may need to do this in batches depending on how powerful your food processor is….if it struggles – make sure you do in batches).
The mix should be sticky, but you should be able to shape into balls, add more tahini or coconut oil if it is too dry. Place in airtight container and keep in the fridge (they wont last long).
Notes:
Cacao powder is not heat treated and retains all the wonderful antioxidant properties of the cocoa bean.
I also add 2 tablespoons of spirulina,
You could do these with less/no cacao, or without the tahini, depending on preferences – without the tahini you will need more oil to bind them.
If you would like to make these gluten free - leave out the oats.
