Why I put this program together.
I'd like to eat well all the time. Of course. I am a nutritionist after all. Truth is I got stuck in a bit of a rut. Life got in the way. I was so busy running around after my children that I wasn't getting meal plans or even the shopping list done - which in the end cost me more time as I was wandering around the market wondering what to cook for dinner that night or buying heaps of veggies that seemed like a great idea at the time, but without thinking what I was going to use them for or forgetting we were going to be out for 3 nights that week - and having them go to waste.
So I put together 4 weeks of fabulous meal plans, using seasonal food, which we have started in our house and because the thinking is now done I'm seeing the benefits:

So I put together 4 weeks of fabulous meal plans, using seasonal food, which we have started in our house and because the thinking is now done I'm seeing the benefits:
- I'm saving time (no more ducking to the shops every night as I've forgotten something), or aimlessly wandering the market looking for inspiration.
My lunches are organised and prepared with leftovers from dinner - Taking the stress out of meal-times - its already planned, the food is in the kitchen, its even pre prepped at a convenient time.
- I'm saving money - I am not buying food that doesn't get used, or doing last minute visits to the shops (where I invariably buy other things I don't need).
- I feel like I'm getting on top of our food and our lives!

Questions?
What’s it all about? Eating real food, as close to nature as possible. Cutting out foods high in calories and low in nutritional value. It’s about jumpstarting a healthy eating lifestyle that is achievable and most importantly able to be maintained long term.
I've done the thinking for you for the four weeks, by the end, you'll have plenty of tools, shortcuts and recipes to continue to make eating well tasty, fast and fun!
What doesn’t it include: We'll be ditching processed foods, food that is high in calories and low in nutrition. No soft drinks, energy drinks, highly processed foods.
Will it take long to prepare the food? – No! I’m a busy mum, so I’m all about making life a bit easier. I’ve designed the menu plan so that a lot of the meals become lunch the next day, or are freezable for a meal later on when you don’t have any time. I’ve also included tips on what can be pre-prepared the night before or on the weekend.
We have no time in the morning – do I have to cook food in the morning? No, many of my breakfast options are prepared on the weekend and are literally as quick as preparing cereal (but more delicious and nutritious) the cooked breakfast options are fast.
Is it flexible? It is designed so you can swap meals around during the week to suit your movements - I'll show you how I plan my weeks. The meals are no-fuss, but some preparation is needed of course, but my aim is to give you skills and the planning to do the prep when you have the time.
I do 6 days of meal plans per week and lots of breakfast options that you can swap around as there we are usually out for a lunch or dinner once a week (if not, just choose one of your favourite recipes) - and it is all about balance - I don't want you to feel you have to eat your home cooked food every day.
Will I loose weight? Depending on your current lifestyle, you quite possibly will. Depending on your current level of health program will be a gentle detox and lighten the load on your liver, improve your gut health and digestion, help balance hormones and increase metabolism, all of which can aid in weightloss. If losing weight is one of your goals, add a consultation to your program when you book and we can personalise the plan for you. Similarly if you are doing a lot of physical exercise - be that at work or sports training - you'll need more food, book a consultation so we can tailor the meal plans for you.
Will I have more energy? Undoubtedly. The improvements to your health, and the lower sugar lifestyle will certainly give you more energy and you'll be thinking clearer.
Can I drink coffee? I love coffee too....it is good to give yourself a break if you can. However, if that causes you a lot of stress, you can have one cup (a standard cup) per day. No large coffee's please!
Can I drink alcohol? I love a drink too! Again, moderation is key. For the 4 week program it would really be an advantage to give the alcohol a break (and it is only 4 weeks).....lets do it together! You're liver will love you! Most alcohol is high in sugar and slows the metabolism while our liver breaks down the alcohol. If you do have a drink, limit it to 2 per week and choose a red wine or say a vodka and soda with a squeeze of lime.
Do I need to exercise? Yes! Exercise is not only important to burn excess calories, it is essential for heart health, digestion, good skin……go for a swim, a walk, a run, find a group training session – but keep moving!
Will my kids eat the food? the million dollar question......if I could promise every child would eat every meal.....I would be very rich indeed...so I won't! My kids (ages 2, 5 & 7)are fussy eaters , (just like yours might be), they are getting a bit more adventurous and there but there are plenty of meals in here that they do eat - for dinner and in their lunchboxes. It will also depend on the ages of your children - older kids will most likely eat all the meals.
The best way to get children eating the same food as you is to eat together and eat by example. I know this isn't usually possible, particularly with small children but we try to eat together as a family 2-3 times a week.
We'll talk more about this in the program!
