School Fundraising that makes a difference.
|
I am absolutely passionate about helping as many people to lead healthier lives as possible and I believe educating children around eating well is essential to this.
I developed the Sugar Free Challenge as a way to build awareness of healthy eating for children (and parents), and to raise money for important learning resources for our school. We not only succeeded in children and parents becoming more aware of what they were eating, but we raised over $11,000 from a school community of 400 students in 4 weeks. I'd love to see other schools help educate their community around food and raise money for their school. I've developed a step-by-step program for your parent / school fundraising team to implement at your school. I share the process, secrets to success and shortcut the hard yards required to make it successful - because it is done for you! |
In a nutshell: |
For the Sugar Free Challenge children give up sugar for a week, and get sponsored to do so. (You might start with just cutting out the ice-creams, lollies, soft drinks and cakes, or you might want to be more extensive - "the rules" can be adjusted to your needs) The sponsorship process encourages children to participate and we create a little fun competition between students and between classes. The sponsorship concept means that fundraising is extended to the community and the financial burden does not fall just to the parents.
In the lead up, and during the Sugar Free Challenge, an education program is rolled out to parents and children in the form of snippets of nutritional information, recipes and classroom activities via various channels. My step-by-step program sets out the process, provides the nutritional information, the communication plan and plenty tips to make it simple and fun to implement the Sugar Free Challenge in your school. and most of all be successful in raising awareness about sugar and raising money for your school. |
